The real significance of all of this prophetic speculation becomes clear in the conclusion of the November 1, 1993, Watchtower article discussed earlier:
”our confidence is strengthened that the small body of anointed Christians who lived through those times really is the faithful and discreet slave. In the years since then, Jehovah’s organization has expanded enormously” -- page 12
The Society uses the alleged prophetic fulfillment to claim the obedience of millions of followers -- most of whom are unaware that the leadership keeps changing the interpretation to fit its current needs.
After all, if God had His prophets write all those passages in Daniel and Revelation about the Watchtower leaders and their activities, isn't that proof that the Watchtower is God's organization?
People who hear only the current Watchtower interpretation might be fooled into accepting that argument. However, thinking persons who examine all the evidence will reach a different conclusion -- namely that it would be a serious mistake to see Judge Rutherford and his successors as God's representatives.
